Thanksgiving has come and gone. Now-Christmas

Thanksgiving with family was a joyful occasion.  I absolutely ate too much.
I decorated for Christmas with Christmas music playing and an evergreen candle burning.  Rearranging the furniture was necessary in order to fit a Christmas tree into our livingroom.  It took me all day but it was great.  I really would of liked it if my grown children could of been here to help.  My husband was at work - he is not into decorating.  He did comment that it looked like Christmas had hit our house.

When I started pulling out the tubs of decorations I was joyfully surprised to find items  purchased on sale after Christmas last year. Yes, I had new stuff to work with so  a lot of the old decorations stayed packed away.  They will come out to be used again in future Christmas'.  Maybe one day my children or grandchildren will use them after I am gone-  I don't plan on leaving soon.

A New Front Door

I have lived in my home for 26 years and today I got a new front door.  I love it!  It brings me joy!

Pumpkin joy

Made these little pumpkin cupcakes for the teachers at my granddaughter's school and they were gone within the hour!  This brought the teachers joy and  knowing they enjoyed them  brought me joy.

Mom

My mom is 77 years young and when I asked her what gives her joy she started singing.  "The joy of the Lord gives me strength".
The Lord gives her joy and another song," Joy unspeakable and full of glory, full of glory, full of glory.  I have joy unspeakable and full of glory".
What gives you joy?  Make a joyful noise!

Fall

Decorating for Fall has given me joy.

I started out with my dining room table-didn't buy anything new-

just used what I had.

I then went to a closet and pulled out a decoration that I had bought last year

at our Fair on the Square. This happens to be the first Saturday in October.
I put this on our front porch.

A couple of days ago I sewed and glued a scare crow together to

put in our entry way. This has given me such joy. The cooler weather, even if it is still in the 80's, feels wonderful.

Hope you can let the fall season give you joy.

Joyfully Yours

Why am I doing a blog?

Why am I doing a blog?
I asked myself this as I was playing around with setting up a blog site. I like reading the other blogs and boy there are a lot out there. I thought someone might enjoy reading mine. Not that I have exciting things happening in my life---but I want to focus on being joyful---finding things to be joyful about. I need this daily.
